About Me

Image Description: Caera, a woman with light skin and long hair that is dark with red highlights, wearing a blue blouse over a pale green dress with purple flowers and wearing long earrings, sits smiling in a garden.

Hello! I am Caera Gramore, CPC, MSW, LSWAIC (see below to learn what all of these letters mean). I am an associate licensed clinical social worker, supervised by Jamie Weber, LICSW at Kin River Healing (https://www.kinriverhealing.com/).

I have seen too many people harmed and cast aside in various settings and systems. Yet I have also witnessed amazing individual and group healing, resilience, and resistance to systems of harm. This is what inspires me to do the work that I do.

My work is informed by many therapeutic modalities and frameworks, including Trauma-Informed Approach, Relational-Cultural Therapy (RCT), Cultural Humility, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI), Recovery Model, Strengths-Based Approach, Attachment, Neurobiology, and Mindfulness.

I am committed to pursuing further education in order to offer flexible and informed care for all of my clients. Recently, I have completed the Trauma Research Foundation’s 7 month Traumatic Stress Studies certification program by Bessel van der Kolk et al, in addition to PESI’s 25 hour Clinical Trauma Professional certification program by Linda Curran et al (see here for a more extensive list of recent and past trainings completed). In 2022, I will be pursuing further education in Internal Family Systems (IFS), Somatic Experiencing (SE), and other modalities to further support clients in their healing.

I recognize that various systems, from family and school to larger systems such as ableism or racism, influence a person’s lived experience as well as a person’s options in decision making. I am involved with several groups, organizations, and events committed to dismantling systems of oppression and unlearning internalized narratives around systemic power dynamics. My social positionality includes experiencing life as a white (Irish-American), assigned female, disabled, queer, genderfluid, cis-passing, non-Christian person. My commitment to cultural humility and to dismantling systems of oppression includes deep listening to each client’s unique perspectives and experiences in their own story, and honoring the strengths, resourcefulness, and validity of each client. See this link for a list of trainings I have taken in recent years in support of healing systemic harms and trauma.

I am a gender affirming, LGBTQIA+ friendly, poly friendly, diverse-ability affirming, sex positive, body positive, sex worker friendly, culturally inclusive therapist. I have enjoyed working with members of various populations, including LGBTQIA+ people, people with disabilities and/or chronic illness, neurodiverse people, unhoused people, and systems-involved people.

Caera’s credentials include:

CPC — Certified Peer Counselor: someone who has been a client in addition to working in mental and/or behavioral health and who has completed a training and passed a test to gain this credential.
